KIM hails Mirabai's Tokyo feat

Kuki Inpi Manipur, the apex body of the Kukis in Manipur, has lauded the achievement of Saikhom Mirabai Chanu, which ended India's 21-year wait for a weightlifting medal at the Olympics.
Khaimang Chongloi, president KIM, said that KIM celebrated Mirabai Chanu's silver medal win at the Tokyo Olympics which got the country off to a sparkling start on the very first day of the Olympics as Mirabai scripted history by becoming the first Indian weightlifter to win an Olympic silver medal for the country.
He said that her win at the Tokyo Olympics ended India's 21-year wait for a weightlifting medal with her stupendous performance and put a smile on faces of 120 crore Indians.
"I congratulated Mirabai Chanu for the prestigious medal and thank her for the glorious win on the first day of the Tokyo Olympics", said Khaimang before adding, "You not only won a medal for the country and our beautiful state Manipur, but also brought laurels to all the Manipuris" .
The KIM president further said, "Mirabai Chanu's win will motivate other Indian players in the Olympics as well and we have faith in them that they will gain motivation from Chanu's victory and claim more medals for the country and the state" .
