Assam Rifles seizes WY tablet worth 2 crore

Troops of 44 Assam Rifles seized large quantity of WY tablets, estimated to worth Rs 2 crore in the international market, from the nearby jungle areas of S Monnom village near Myanmar border on Monday night.
An AR officer told newspersons that around 11:30 pm, information regarding smuggling activities was received at 43 AR outpost, T Minou village following which an operation was launched in the nearby jungle areas of S Monnom village.
During the operation, the troops detected an abandoned Kenbo bike and upon further inspection, 20 packets of WY tablets were found.
However, the troops were unable to nab the smugglers as they fled leaving the drug and the vehicle behind when they saw the troops coming, he added.
The recovered WY tablets and vehicle were handed over to Moreh Police for necessary legal action.
