Imphal, June 20 2012:
Denouncing the alleged lackadaisical attitude of the Government of Manipur over encroachment on its office plot as well as the killing of two Kuki students at Nongbrang village in 2009, Kuki Students' Organisation (KSO) has announced its decision of imposing a 48- hour bandh all over the state from June 22 midnight.
Announcing this in a statement, Mangcha Baite, Vice President of KSO said that the office plot of KSO located at Kabow Leikai is found to have been encroached upon for construction of a 5-Star hotel by Ningthem, Director of Manipur Development Society.
Repeated attempts were made for seeking an audience to discuss the matter, but to no avail.
On the other hand, the government has failed to keep its promise of arresting the culprits involved in the killing of two Kuki students namely Paosat Kipgen and Paolenlel Chongloi by a mob at Nongbrang village on December 22, 2009 mistaking them as extortionists, Mangcha stated.
