VVPAT reaches Manipur

The Chief Electoral Officer, Manipur office has begun making necessary preparations for the Lok Sabha elections which will be conducted next year and necessary instruments and items, including VVPATs have reached Manipur.
According to an official source, 3800 VVPATs have been shipped from Karnataka to be used in 2817 polling stations of Manipur during the Lok Sabha election next year.
The CEO has also been instructed to ship in 5984 EVMs for use in the said election from Delhi, UP, Assam and Arunachal Pradesh.
In connection with the coming election, the Election Office has started analysing the data regarding number of people who are not in the electoral roll and who are eligible for entry into the roll.
The draft electoral roll will be published in September this year, the source added.
Necessary trainings have also been provided to the EROs and the AROs, it stated.
