Imphal, July 12 2018:
Appearing nonchalant and calm, a woman was noting something down on a piece of paper while arranging the pamphlets and books that were spread all over the table placed before her.
Her activities went on for nearly an hour before she called the media personnel inside the press club room to address a press meet.
Christians Elisabeth Teich, a 65 year old English-German lady who was married to an Indian national in Uttar Pradesh and settled there for the last 28 years, has been fighting for the rights of Falun Dafa practitioners.
She has also been promoting Falun Dafa, an ancient practice (simple exercises) for a healthy body and peaceful mind in her best possible manner and as part of promoting the practice, she travelled all the way from Uttar Pradesh to Imphal.
She has also visited some schools in the State and created awareness about Falun Daffa since the day she arrived in Imphal on July 6.Falun Daffa, commonly known as Falun Gong is a comprehensive self-cultivation practice which have ancient roots in China, she said and added that it was initially taught publicly in 1992 by Li Hongzhi in the country.
After it became widely popular in the country (with over 7 to 100 crore people practising it), the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) began viewing it as a threat to the regime's control and banned Falun Dafa since 1999.The CCP has been prosecuting even its practitioners and torturing them or imprisoning them.
The timid looking German lady became angered while conveying about the ban and went on to claim that the act of the CCP is a brutal suppression of Falun Dafa practitioners curtailing the rights of a citizen.
Asserting that the three main aesthetics of Falun Dafa are truthfulness, compassion and tolerance, Elisabeth Teich maintained that more than 4000 people have died as a result of the torture meted out by the authorities of CCP.
However, independent researchers estimated that tens of thousands of Falun Dafa practitioners have been deliberately killed in custody for organ trade, she alleged.
Informing that Falun Dafa was introduced in India in 2000, she said that she became aware of it when few of its practitioners introduced the practice to her in Ladakh.
She conceded that Falun Dafa is not for commercial purpose, nor has any affiliation with any political party or organization while stating that she has been creating awareness and promoting it only for its values and the rights of Falun Dafa practitioners.
There are no established trainers or associations to train Falun Dafa and one can learn its simple five forms of practice which is comprised of just a few simple exercising steps, by accessing the website www.Faluninfo.net, she added.
Stating that she loves travelling and experiencing different things in life, she said she has travelled to more than 55 countries before she married her Indian husband and settled in UP.
She also said that she has been doing social works in many countries, including African countries; Elisabeth Teich added that is her way of living.
