Arrest culprits involved in 'murder' by July 15 : JAC

As the sit-in-protest staged by the JAC against the killing of K Ibemhal Devi entered 7th day Thursday, the JAC has cautioned the authorities that it will adopt more stringent and intense forms of agitation if their pleas are not heard and the murderers' are not arrested by July 15.It may be mentioned that K Ibemhal Devi of Moirang Okshongbung Leikai was found dead in her house on July 5.Preliminary investigation had suggested robbery behind the murder as money and gold chain were found missing' from inside the locker of a Godrej almirah in the house.
A case was registered at Moirang Police and the investigation is on.
"The sit-in-protest will be continued till July 15 and if the authorities concerned failed to arrest the culprits by then, we will resort to other form of intense agitation," said JAC convenor Hemam Kiranjit Singh.
According to the JAC, Moirang Police had assured that the 'culprits involved will be nabbed within 10 days' .
The JAC jointly formed by the members of Citizen Club, Youth Development Organisation, Unemployed Youth Development Association, Okshongbung Leikai Development Committee and Okshongbung Leikai Apunba Meira Paibi had started the sit-in-protest the very next day K Ibemhal Devi was found dead.
