Training / advocacy programme held

Training cum advocacy programme for eight Van Dhan Vikas Kendra (VDVK )of Senapati dist was held at Angkailongdi Community Hall, Senapati.
The programme was organised by the Senapati Forest Division, Senapati.
Lolee Leshiini Kriibve Mao, Range Officer-in-charge of DHQ explained the process of food processing including broom grass, gooseberry, wild apple, bamboo shoot, wild mushroom, fig, black olive where the forest produces would be made to candy, juice and paste.
She also mentioned that Tribal Mela would be organised soon in March or April and urged all units to prepare their wares for the mela.
On the occasion, D John Sha, DFO, Senapati Forest Division spoke about the need to be hygienic during preparation as the food products would be consumed raw after processing.
He also encouraged all the SHGs to start their venture when the Forest department is assisting them in procuring materials required for food processing.
