Imphal, November 05 2026:
The Manipur Indigenous Alliance has alleged that the present unrest in Manipur was created by the national political parties which have ruled the State.
MIA president Soraisam Surendra made the allegation at a press meet held today at the party office at Tera Khuraijam Leikai, Imphal.
He alleged that the Indian National Congress, which ruled Manipur for a long time, and the Bharatiya Janata Party, which ruled for the last about 10 years, created the unrest.
The responsibility and accountability for the unrest must be borne by the INC and BJP, he added.
He alleged that the national political parties gave a wrong narrative of the unrest to gain political advantage and have a history of creating and supporting such unrest.
The parties did not work with due attention to the sentiment, interest, value and development of the indigenous people of Manipur, he added.
The MIA president said the forthcoming 13th Assembly election is very important because of the unrest.
As an indigenous political party of the State, MIA will face the election.
He said how to end the unrest in Manipur will be the first step of MIA.
In every election, MLA will present a report to the people on SoO with proper suggestions and warnings, and on the political parties and politicians involved in it, he added.
He said MIA will work without discrimination to protect the indigenous people, land, unity, history and identity of Manipur, and sought public support.
