State logs 26 fresh cases, 19 recoveries

Imphal, August 17 2022:
As the fourth wave of Covid-19 pandemic subsided gradually, the state on Wednesday reported 26 new positive cases from 10 districts, out of 684 samples tested in the last 24 hours, thus, registering 3.8 per cent positivity rate.
The 26 fresh cases (10 males & 16 females) are from Imphal West (8), Imphal East (5), Bishnupur (4), Kakching (2), Senapati (2), Chandel (1), Churachandpur (1), Kangpokpi (1), Thoubal (1) and Ukhrul (1) districts.
Government bulletins also reported 19 recoveries in the last 24 hours from home isolation (13), JNIMS (1), RIMS (1), and Shija Hospital (3), while one is a CAPF member.
Meanwhile, the number of active cases came down to 156, out of which 70 are in home isolation.
No death case was reported on Wednesday.
The pandemic has claimed 2143 lives including seven CAPF personnel and infected 1,39,563 individuals including 5,020 CAPF personnel.
There are 29 vacant beds available in JNIMS and 57 in RIMS.
In the last 24 hours, 44 D-type and 11 B-type oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health facilities and 2496 vaccine doses administered on Wednesday taking the cumulative number of vaccinated population to 16,23,532, out of which 12,95,207 had received the second dose and 2,29,074 had taken the pre cautionary dose.
As per data maintained by The People's Chronicle based on IDSP and CCR reports, number of total cases in different districts are Imphal West (49734), Imphal East (30996), Thoubal (10285), Churachandpur (11231), Kangpokpi (3180), Tamenglong (3494), Bishnupur (9961), Senapati (2543), Ukhrul (3357), Kakching (6969), Chandel (2786), Noney (1172), Tengnoupal (1210), Jiribam (1118), Kamjong (1051), and Pherzawl (476).Fatality counts in different districts are Imphal West (711), Imphal East (516), Thoubal (191), Churachandpur (169), Kangpokpi (70), Tamenglong (17), Bishnupur (206), Senapati (13), Ukhrul (51), Kakching (124), Chandel (42), Noney (5), Tengnoupal (16), Jiribam (7), Kamjong (5), and Pherzawl (0) .
