Medicine filled with dirt and germs have been provided by a pharmacy to one Khomdram Santosh (35) of Singjamei Thongam Leikai.
Disclosing this to media persons at Manipur Press club today, Kh Santosh informed that in the evening of June 18 he bought some medicines from Kumar Medico located at Singjamei parking for his 5 days old child, who is suffering from Jaundice.
On being asked to give the medicine for the ailment, the pharmacy provided Liv-52 and another food supplement named A to Z, multi vitamin and multi mineral product of Indchemic Health Specialties Pvt Ltd and marketed by Alkem Lab.
However, when the medicine was poured out, many dead insects and dirt came out.
When he lodged a complaint in this regard, the owner of the pharmacy maintained that such cases are common and no attention should be paid, Santosh recalled.
"If the said medicine had been provided to my child and he would have suffered serious complications apart from Jaundice", Santosh observed, and drew the attention of the authority concerned to look into the matter so that such incidents do not recur in future.
