2nd foundation day of PYN celebrated

The first online yoga centre of the state Patanjali Yoga Nongin (PYN), Imphal celebrated its 2nd foundation day via online mode on Saturday.
The programme held under the theme 'Yoga for Co-existence and Healthy Life' was attended by Langthabal MLA Karam Shyam as chief guest and PYN president Prof Sinam Rajendra Singh as president along with 75 other participants including PYN secretary general Dr Sinam Subhaschandra Singh; assistant secretary Ch Dhananjoy Singh; treasurer and High Court of Manipur senior advocate N Joy Kumar Singh, vice president and yoga instructor Yumlembam Sunita and Ksh Chitralekha.
Speaking on the occasion, MLA Shyam pointed out that practicing of yoga not only ensures healthy body but also allows control of mind and eases tension.
He also wished PYN to progress more and have more success in future.
Prof S Rajendra stated that PYN has presently more than 100 members from India as well as from other countries who are practicing yoga.
The organisation will soon carry out research with regard to usage of yoga in dealing with various health issues.
After the pandemic is over, it will also organise yoga camps in various parts of Manipur, Assam, Bangladesh and Myanmar, he added.
As a part of the celebration, condolences were expressed for frontline workers, doctors and nurses who lost their lives on the line of duty during the Covid-19 pandemic.
Prayers were also held for sportspersons of the state who are participating in the Tokyo Olympic Games.
A pledge was also taken by participants including the MLA to promote yoga, participate in yoga research and development and being a responsible
citizen.
