Thoubal, July 03 2021:
The first phase of distribution of micronutrient fertilisers to farmers in Thoubal and Kakching districts under a special project jointly initiated by Soil Health Management and Rashtriya Krishi Vigyan Yojana (RKVY) began from Saturday.
The micronutrient fertilisers, which should be dissolved in water and sprayed in field size of one lourak (size of paddy field) were handed over to 100 farmers during the distribution programme organised by district agriculture officer, Thoubal under the aegis of Agriculture Department.
As a part of the programme, experts from the District Agriculture Office explained that as first dose 30 ml of micronutrient fertilisers will have to be added to 15-litre of water and sprayed after 40 to 45 days of sowing.
The process should be repeated again after 60-65 days as second dose.
The micronutrient fertilisers will increase the paddy crop yield of farmers and if they require more, the micronutrient fertilisers may be procured from the respective circle AOs of the districts, the experts informed.
