Completing his five day visit in the state, Chief Justice of Gauhati High Court, Madan Bhimaroa Lokur left Imphal for Guwahati today.
Before leaving Imphal, the Chief Justice attended a farewell function given to Justice Maibam Binoykumar who will be retired as Judge of the high court on August 31 on superannuation.
Madan B Lokur arrived here on August 22 to discharge his twin jobs of sitting courts at Imphal Bench of the Gauhati High Court having its jurisdiction over seven states of the Northeastern region and inspection of subordinate courts located in various districts of the state.
During his stay in the capital, he inspected court complex and working of subordinate courts in Bishnupur, Churachandpur, Thoubal and Ukhrul apart from courts in Imphal.

He further inspected progress works of construction of High Court Complex at Mantripukhri where he took stock of the ongoing construction work and review the work progress with technical experts and representatives of the firm associated with the said construction.
He also heard the grievances of the Bench, Bar and staff members with patience during his first visit to the state as Chief Justice of High Court of the region.
At the concluding part of the his visit in the state, Madan B Lokur also attended a farewell function given to Justice Maibam Binoykumar who will be retired as judge of the high court on August 31 at the court no.3 of the Imphal Bench of the High Court, North AOC.
While speaking at function, the Chief Justice recounted the works of Maibam Binoykumar as judge of the high court.
Among others, the farewell function was attended by Advocate General of the state N Koteshwor, president of the High Court Bar Association and Th Ibohal, Irom Lalit of Bar Council of North East India.
