The All Manipur Hill District Contract Basis Teachers Association (AMHDCB-TA) in a press conference held here yesterday at TTA conference hall, Hamleikhong has appealed the State Government to extend the services of contract teachers for another one year.

It further said that during the same period the required number of teachers (Graduate) in the hills worked out by the Government and ATSUM is 1132302 for Math, 330 science and 500 Artsand the same have been filled on contract basis.
Demanding extension of services for another one year, it asserted that the delay tactics of the authorities concerned have only resulted in wasting precious time to the extent of causing over-age, devaluation of the contract teachers' service to commodity with disgrace ending and so on.
It also sought the Government to do something for the long suffering of the contract teachers who are all serving for the last 4 years including the last gaps.
