Imphal, August 27 2010:
Chief Justice of Gauhati High Court Madan Bhimarao Lokur arrived at Imphal on August 22 in a week long official visit to the State.
The Chief Justice was declared a State guest and given accommodation at Raj Bhavan, conveyed a press release issued by the Gauhati High Court, Imphal Bench.
On August 23, the Chief Justice inspected subordinate courts located at Cheirap Court complex and Lamphel court complex after which he visited the new High Court Complex at Mantripukhri and took stock of the ongoing construction work.
On the next day, Justice Madan Bhimarao inspected subordinate courts of Bishnupur and Churachandpur with brief halts at INA Memorial Complex, Sendra hillock and Khuga Dam.
On August 25, the Chief Justice inspected subordinate courts of Thoubal with a brief halt at Khongjom War Memorial.
He inspected subordinate courts at Ukhrul yesterday.
The Chief Justice also gave patient hearing to the grievances aired by Bench, Bar and staff members in the course of his inspection tours.
In addition to a dinner hosted by the State Government which was attended by the Chief Minister and other dignitaries, the High Court Bar Association Manipur and the High court Employees' Association, Imphal Bench organised reception functions in honour of the Chief Justice, added the release.
