Imphal, February 20 2011:
Reacting to a report published in a daily paper with regard to abduction of one Bannyson Jajo of Ngurumphung village in Ukhrul district, the Manipur Naga Revolutionary Front (MNRF) has denied involvement of its cadres in the case.
An MNRF statement issued by its assistant publicity and information secretary namely Leishipam contended that the abduction was carried out at the behest of one Alen alias Atai Maxstone, a former MNRF chief from Kasom Khullen village, who had deserted the parent organisation.
Stating that Maxstone's relationship with the MNRF was terminated for his anti-MNRF activities ever since he deserted on January 15 (2011), Leishipam alleged involvement of Maxstone and few accomplices of his in looting from the public.
The MNRF also urged all concerned to extend cooperation in tracking down such disruptive elements.
It is informed that Maxstone had claimed involvement of the MNRF in the abduction of Bannyson from Litan area on February 17 .
