Imphal, August 14Unknown disease is reported to have stalked Longpi area under Nungba subdivision in Tamenglong district.
The 'unknown' disease is also said to have claimed five lives in the area during the past few days.
A press statement issued by the secretary of Chiefs' Association Longpi Area (CALA), Th Kailal Gangte today draws the attention of the concerned department to take immediate steps in order to save precious lives of the area.
The statement further provided the names of the five persons claimed by the unknown disease.
They were Thanglalson (5) of Bolphai village, Demjang (40) of Longphailum, Jamkhosat (8) of Longphailum, Lalzangam (13) of Longpi and Sangtangpui (8) of Longpi village.
All the victims had died during the period from July 29 to August 12.Though the disease is yet to be confirmed, the patients had shown symptoms of Typhoid, Hepatitis, and Malaria, the statement said.
