Imphal, Aug 14While announcing that 36-hour statewide general strike on August 18 and 19, the Working Committee of Apunba Lup today appealed the people to launch court arrest agitations at the police stations on August 16 and 17 ahead of the general strike.
In a lengthy and strong worded statement against the Chief Minister, O Ibobi today stated that the general strike will commence from 5 am of August 18 and will continue till 5 pm of August 19 and appealed the people to suspend all works of life on this day launch agitations.
The body aware of woes suffered by the people of the state by general strike most importantly to the daily wage earners but when the civilians are killed one by one every day, �it could not be rule out that one the misfortune will be befell to your family and relative.
By suffering some days, now the time has come to teach a lesson to the government.
If not more dangerous misfortune may come ahead of the people, thee statement cautioned.
Ahead of the general strike, it also appealed the people to launch mass court arrest and storm police stations of their respective locality on August 16 and 17.Reiterating the demands of the body which include resignation of Chief Minister, befitting punishments to the culprits police commandos, appropriate action to the police officers who tried to concealed the truth behind the killing and release of the leaders of the Apunba Lup, the statement also urged the people to continue protesting with sit-in protest, rally, burning of effigies etc.
The state also flayed the Chief Minister as most unworthy person even seen in the state.
He had dragged down the people of the state into marshy.
Stating that it is too late to dethrone Ibobi from the post of Chief Minister, the statement also urged the ministers and MLAs to withdraw support to the Chief Minister.
