AR man killed in bomb blast, 3 hurt

One Assam Rifles personnel died while three other personnel were injured in an IED blast that occurred near the gate of AR transit camp located along Ragailong Khuman Lampak stadium road at around 7.10 pm yesterday.
According to a reliable source, the AR personnel were on a foot patrol along the road when the IED exploded near the fencing wall of Khuman Lampak Sports Complex at a place a few metres on the northern side of the transit camp.
Four personnel, who were injured in the blast, were immediately rushed to RIMS hospital for treatment.
They have been identified as Himansu Devanath (31) s/o Kamal Devanath of West Bengal, Manish Kumar (28) s/o Gora Urdas of Bihar, K Rameshwar (32) s/o Amumacha of Ingourok (Manipur) and Gukulchand Yadav (32) s/o Sultan Ram Yadav of Sikhar district (Rajasthan) .
As his condition deteriorated, Gukulchand Yadav was shifted to Shija hospital.
However, he succumbed to his injuries at the private hospital later in the night.
Soon after the blast, a team of Imphal West district police led by Additional SP (Law and Order) Sarangthem Ibomcha and Imphal West Commando DSP Krishnatombi rushed to the spot and inspected the site.
Imphal police station has taken up a case regarding the incident.
On the other hand, body of Gukulchand Yadav has been sent to his native village after post mortem examination was conducted at RIMS morgue today morning.
