Summer Festival 2015 for Kidney Patients held

Welfare for the Kidney Transplant Patients will be discussed at the Cabinet meeting, assured Kh Ratankumar, Works Minister, Government of Manipur.
The minister was attending the Summer Festival 2015 organised by All Manipur Kidney Transplant Patients at Palace Compound.
"Kidney patients are facing a lot of problems physically and financially.
Moreover there is lot of issues in the family front as kidney patients need timely support.
There is a growing need of keeping a welfare fund to help the kidney transplant patients.
And for that awareness should be created at the social front", said the minister.
He said that "people live in deed not in years and everyone should keep in mind that they have to contribute something and live life by that spirit" .
M Joy, Deputy Commissioner Imphal East who also attended the Summer Festival 2015 said that the suffering faced by the kidney transplant patients need to be addressed while seeking government attention in supporting health care for the kidney transplant patients.
Marina Mayengbam a kidney transplant patient said that the Summer Festival 2015 is being organised with a motto of healthy living.
She informed that All Manipur Kidney Transplant Patients' Welfare Association is formed to support one another at the time of need and the summer festival is organised to generate some fund for the welfare association.
Marina lamented the difficulties faced by the kidney transplant patients and said that it is hard to mix with the general population in terms of food habit and other care.
She also said that one has to take proper medication and go for regular tests which makes them financially strained and mentally worried.
She also expressed that kidney transplant patients are surviving with the help of Kidney donors and expressed her gratitude to the donors while thanking the support the welfare association is getting in organising the Summer Festival 2015 .
