'Mask Kangpokpi' campaign kicks off

Kangpokpi, May 22 2021:
Kangpokpi Area COVID Task Force, one of the seven area-wise COVID Task Forces constituted by MLA Nemcha Kipgen to combat the COVID-19 second wave in her constituency, kicked off 'Mask Kangpokpi' campaign on Saturday.
The Kangpokpi Task Force and the other six similar bodies were entrusted to ensure strict adherence to COVID advisories or guidelines by the public in Kangpokpi Assembly Constituency.
They were also entrusted to monitor price of essential commodities in their respective areas and promote awareness on COVID-19 appropriate behaviour among the people.
The Kangpokpi Task Force led by its president Haolet Khongsai and general secretary Hekim Hangshing led the campaign in the district headquarters during which the task force volunteer came across few people ventured out of their homes for emergency needs without masks and they were given masks provided by the local MLA.
They were also advised against leaving their homes without wearing masks in future.
Some children, youngsters and adults were also seen loitering around the street and the COVID Task Force team gave them masks and told them to get back to their respective homes.
According to Kangpokpi Area COVID Task Force president Haolet Khongsai, his team began monitoring the area by starting the Mask Kangpokpi, adding that the team will carry out various other activities including ensuring COVID appropriate behaviour, checking price hike and awareness campaign.
He also said that the task force along with the authority concerned started sealing areas declared as containment zone, adding that random testing of loiterers in the street will be conducted after obtaining permission from the authority concerned.
He then appealed to the denizens of Kangpokpi area to contact the Kangpokpi Area COVID Task Force anytime in any case of COVID related emergency.
Meanwhile, Kangpokpi Area COVID Task Force extended its sincere gratitude to the local MLA for providing masks, sanitizers, gloves, PPE kits, etc.
