Imphal, May 22 2021:
In accordance to the decision taken by the Core Vaccination Committee on Friday to speed up the Covid-19 inoculation drive in the state, the total capacity of beneficiaries to be jabbed at designated centres has been relaxed, while those who have already booked the slots for the second dose will receive the dosage on time.
According to an office memorandum issued by the State Mission director, NHM, Manipur on Saturday, a meeting the Core Vaccination Committee chaired by State Mission director Dr N Shyamjai was held on Friday, wherein six resolutions were adopted to speed up the ongoing vaccination drive.
As per the resolutions, the restriction placed on vaccination centres to vaccinate only 150 ben-eficiares in one session has been relaxed.
The districts now can set a target based on availability of stock, logistics and manpower and further open additional centres for vaccination of 18-44 years old.
The districts can also vaccinate both the 18-44 years old and above 45-years old age group simultaneously after scheduling a proper place and time.
The state immunisation officer should be contacted for the necessary vaccine and logistics in this regard.
Furthermore, MLAs or DCs can organise mass vaccination camps in localities, provided the AIFI is in charge of management and monitoring the camp.
As per the central government guidelines released on May 16, the vaccination gap between the first and second dosage has been widened from 12 to 16 weeks.
However, for those beneficiaries who have already booked for the second dosage will receive the jab as scheduled.
All the aforementioned are to be followed to the letter by DFWOs/ DIOs at all vaccination centres.
The districts must also submit responses stating that they have implemented the above recommendations.
