Imphal, September 28 2020: JD-U State unit has hailed Chief Minister N Biren for reshuffling his Council of Ministers and ensuring election of titular king Leishemba Sanajaoba to the State's lone Rajya Sabha seat.

Speaking to media persons at their New Checkon office today, JD-U State unit president Hangkhanpao Taithul remarked that election of titular king Leishemba Sanajaoba to the Rajya Sabha and the recent Cabinet reshuffle were achievements of Chief Minister N Biren which would further strengthen NDA.

JD-U State unit appreciated the bold steps taken up by the Chief Minister in effecting Cabinet reshuffle by exercising his Constitutional power thereby ensuring equal opportunity to the MLAs to participate in the Government by dropping some MLAs from the Council of Ministers, Hangkhanpao said.

He said that many changes have been seen in the State since the BJP-led Government headed by N Biren was installed.

By launching such novel initiatives like Go to Hills, Go to Village, Meeyamgi Numit and Hill Leaders Day, the Biren Government has succeeded in connecting the masses with the Government apart from bridging whatever communication gap that existed among different communities, he said.

By launching schemes like CMHT, Make in Manipur and Manipur Start-Up, the Government has been providing several benefits to different sections of the society, he remarked.

The State's law and order situation has improved considerably and highway blockades have become a thing of the past, he continued.

The condition of Nambul river has recuperated remarkably and connectivity has been improved significantly after passenger helicopter service was introduced by the Government, Hangkhanpao said.
