Legal awareness cum interaction progs held

Under the aegis of National Legal Service Authority (NALSA), Manipur State Legal Services Authority (MASL-SA) organised an Online Legal Awareness Cum Interaction Programme for officials and inmates of Manipur Central Jail on Tuesday.
The programme was attended by MASLSA member secretary Ojesh Mutum, Central Jail Imphal SP A Kunjakishore and MASLSA deputy member secretary Sorokhaibam Sadananda, along with women inmates of Manipur Central Jail, officials and PLVs of legal aid clinics.
During the programme, discussions were held on legal benefits provided to prisoners during the pandemic, maintaining transparency of MASLSA's prisoner database management portal, social and psychological assessment of inmates, organising vocational courses to help them provide with a source of income, and lastly, welfare schemes for the families of poor inmates.
Meanwhile, District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) Imphal West organised a Legal Awareness Programme on the topic of "Covid 19 Related Scheme: Schemes and Relief Measures for People Affected by Covid 19" for the PLVs and panel lawyers of the district on Tuesday.
District and Sessions Judge Imphal West cum chairman of DLSA A Guneshwar and CJM Imphal West cum secretary DLSA Imphal West Y Somorjit attended the programme during which advocate Ch Momon spoke as resource person.
Ch Momon explained about the Chief Minister Gi Angang Gi Tengbang (CM Bal Seva) and Chief Minister Covid-19 Affected Livelihood Support Schemes; while DLSA Imphal West secretary Y Somorjit spoke about the inconveniences faced by the people while assessing medical treatment during the pandemic.
