MSF accuses State Govt, 21 non-locals rounded up

The State Government is unable to check influx of non-locals to the State, said Manipuri Students Federation (MSF) .
MSF vice-president Laky Kor.sam said that acting on a credible information MSF volunteers today rushed to Sapermeina in Senapati district to stop sneaking of non,-locals into the State.
Two Tata Winger jeeps carrying 21 Assamese Adibashis sped away towards Kanglatongbi on seeing MSF volunteers, he said.
However, they cornered the two vehicles at Kanglatongbi, Laky added.
The non-locals are the workers of SCI Company and they were brought to the State to engage them in the construction of railway tunnel.
Owners of the two vehicles have been identified as Roma Chetri of Kanglatongbi colony and S Hemochandra of Bishnupur Ward No 1, he added.
Saying that the non-locals would be handed over JCILPS, Laky said that indigenous people of the State are on the verge of extinction due to daily influx of non-locals.
Condemning the State Government for delaying implementation of ILPS in the State, the student leader said that police and other Government authority have failed to check bringing in of non-locals.
