BJP team highlights State issues

A state BJP delegation led by its president Th.Chaoba called on Venkaiah Naidu, Union Minister of Urban Development, Poverty Alleviation and Parliamentary Affairs at his Nirmal Bhavan Office Chamber, New Delhi, on Friday last, stated a press release issued by L.Bashanta Sharma, State General Secretary ( Media) BJP Manipur Pradesh.
The state delegation comprising BJP president Th.Chaoba, state General secretaries Asnikumar Singh and L.Bashanta Sharma, National councillor Yanglet Haokip and active member Susindro @ Yaima drew the attention of Union Minister for creation of a new Smart City in Manipur under NDA government's 100 Smart Cities plan.
It also urged the Minister to extend maximum funds for Urban Housing Scheme in Manipur for poor people living in Urban and Municipal areas of Manipur as well as for creation of modern urban infrastructure in the state.
The delegation invited Venkaiah Naidu to pay a visit to Imphal, to which the Union Minister agreed.
The Union Minister also assured to provide maximum possible assistance to Manipur.
In late afternoon, the delegation also met Sabarnanda Sonowal, Union Minister of Youth Affairs, Sports and Skill Development at his office chamber at Shastri Bhavan, New Delhi and highlighted various issues of Manipur pertaining to Sports, Youths Affairs and employment.
Issues that were raised before the Union Minister included strengthening of SAI centres in Manipur, modalities for setting up of Sports University in the state, organising a brainstorming workshop for youths and Skill development with the presence of Union Minister and opening of a permanent Skill Development Training Centre in Manipur.
On being invited, the Union Minister also agreed to pay a visit to Imphal around 20 August next and assured to take actions for development of Manipur on priority basis.
