North East Zonal Council Meeting held

North East Zonal Council Meeting of All India University Employees Confederation (AIUEC) was held on Friday at Centenary Hall, Manipur University.
The programme was hosted by Manipur University Staff Association (MUSA).
Giving the keynote address, Soramcha Jibankumar Zonal Secretary North East Zone, AIUEC said this is the first time that MUSA had hosted this kind zonal meeting but the meeting had been already hosted by many other States.
In the meeting they will discuss not only the grievances of the University employees but many development works by exchanging their knowledge.
Jibankumar further said that out 46 Universities in the North east and most of the government Universities have been registered to AIUEC.
He said ten Central Universities, fifteen State Universities, 20 Private Universities and one Deemed University in the North East States.
MU Vice Chancellor Professor HNK Sarma attended as Chief Guest and AIUEC President BS Hotta attended as President while MU Registrar Professor N Lokendra, MU Finance Officer Konsam Jibankumar and AIUEC General Secretary MB Sajjan attended as Guest of Honours respectively.
HNK Sharma said that Manipur University is one of historical place of Manipur.
King Palace was established during the reign of King Bhagyachandra.
While BS Hotta sought to strengthen the North East Universities.
He appealed to authority to fill up the backlog vacant posts in the Manipur University.
Hotta also urged give to promotion to the employees under University rule and regulation.
He assured to help the Manipur University in any field for development.
Over 35 delegates and 8 officials from outside the State participated in the meeting.
