Inquiry launched: Gaikhangam

Deputy Minister Gaikhangam has said that the State Government has started an inquiry into the June 4 Tengnoupal ambush which left several personnel of 6 Dogra Regiment dead and a dozen others wounded.
Gaikhangam, who is also the Home Minister disclosed that the State Government was making maximum effort in the case.
He termed the attack "unfortunate" and stated that the State Government was sharing the agony of the bereaved families.
"Army and Central Paramilitary Forces are on duty in the State to protect people.
Killings cannot bring about anything good," he said.
People's demand for repeal of Armed Forces (Special Powers) Act (AFSPA) from Manipur will be certainly be hindered by such killings and attacks.
He further said the area where the ambush took place was still under massive operation by security forces.
