2day seminar on Mushroom cultivation held

A 2-day Seminar on "Food Processing and Preservation to the Unemployed Youths of Manipur" organized by RAMA Foundation was held from November 26 to 27 at Lalambung Makhong Community Hall Imphal.
The function was attended by Kh Joykishan, MLA of Thangmeiband A/C as Chief-Guest and Dr N Iboton, Former Dean of CAU as President.
Y Lokendro, ACDO of FPI and A Loken Singh, Extension Officer of Directorate of Commerce and Industries were also present as Guests of Honor.
Branch Manager of ICICI Bank of Keishampat was the Special Guest, said a release from the foundation.
In the Technical session, Dr N Iboton moderated a discussion on lectures presented by field experts, Dr RK Tombisana, Ng Maniroton and L Shamungou Sharma, stated the release.
S Rajendrakumar, Managing Director of RAMA Foundation talked on Mushroom cultivation, marketing, food value, processing technologies and its preservation techniques along with a demonstration cum training on the subject.
At the end of the Seminar, the moderator disclosed that programs on Specific and Specialized Trainings will be conducted by professional scientists of the state on the production of healthy fruits, vegetables and other cereals to feed the small agro-based units of fruit, vegetables and mushrooms etc.
in suitable places both in urban and rural areas.
Technical, Scientific and Financial back-ups will also be provided by the MIDC, ICAR, CAU, MSME and the Commerce and Industries departments, he said.
