NCP seeks PM's attention over repeal of AFPSA

The Nationalist Congress Party of Manipur State has today called for an attention from the Prime Minister of India to address the issues of the state during his visit tomorrow.
In a press release issued today, The President of the party, Laishram Ibomcha expressed that the Armed Forces Special Powers' Act of 1958 must be removed immediately and scrapped from the North-Eastern states specially in Manipur considering the atrocities committed by the armed forces under the umbrella of this draconian act, he said.
The issues of adequate supply of drinking water and installation of water supply distribution pipes in the localities situated within "0-mile"of the Imphal city and the total failure of the Waste Management programs were mentioned in his report.
Matters related to basic amenities including lack of proper road connectivity both in urban and rural areas, provision of sufficient funds and planning for development of urban areas, lack of sanitation and environmental pollution was also stated in his report, the release said.
