Imphal, November 29 2014 :
Demonstration against the proposed Imphal ring road continued today too.
A sit in protest was held today at Grace Colony, Tarung.
Members of the JAC against the proposed Imphal ring road and villagers likely to be affected by the ring road like Tharon, Neikanlong, Tarung, Guigailong, Laimanai, Ramgailong and Lanthungching took part in the sit-in.
Co-convener of the JAC Athuan Abonmai said that the Govt should construct the ring road at least 10 kms away from Imphal if it is serious enough to ease traffic congestion through the ring road.
Athon Gangmei, chairman of Tharon village said that violating the rights of the poors in the name of development is not fair at all.
He said that the affected villagers are ready to launch any type of agitation in collaboration with the public unless the proposed ring road is revoked.
Publicity secretary of the JAC Panti Golmei said that dwellers of Langol foothills are also human beings and they deserve equal treatment with others.
Strongly condemning the alleged inhumane Govt policy and initiative, Panti said the JAC would submit a memorandum to the PM in this connection.
