Public meeting to investigate fund misuse

A public meeting of Mutum Leikai and Thounaojam Leikai under Lamsang Nagar Panchayat Ward No 8 today resolved to investigate the fund misused of Rs 24,000 for repairing Mutum leirak by former councilor of the ward Soibam ongbi Santi.
The public meeting of the two villages was held today at Thounaojam Leikai public ground under the chairmanship of Thounaojam Thambaljao.
The meeting resolved to form a committee to investigate the misused of Rs 24,000 for laying stone on the Mutum Leirak by former councilor Soibam Santi and his husband Raghu without doing the work.
The meeting also resolved to investigate other fund misused issues in the ward and appealed to the new councilor and ward development members to investigate take up necessary actions against her.
A 13-member committee was formed to investigate the matter.
A villager said that the the Mutum leirak is an important street which connects the fields and the villages.
Villagers are facing many difficulties in harvesting season due to the bad condition of the street.
He also hinted that, Santi might have misused other public funds.
