Security forces arrested three UG cadres, one arm smuggler and drug peddler in separate operations held at Imphal East and Bishnupur Districts in between June 5 and June 6 .
In a press statement issued by PRO Police Department RK Tutusana, team of Imphal East District Police Commando conducted mobile frisking and checking at the eastern side of Kongpal Irangpham Bridge and arrested one ex-cadre of KYLK but presently working for KCP identified as one Leihaorongbam Sanatomba alias Naoba (37), son of late L Ibohal of Top Awang Leikai presently stayed at Kongpal Chingambam Leikai on June 5 .
On same day, a team also nabbed one of his associated on verification Naoba, he told that one of his associated was waiting for him at Wangkhei Keithel Ashangbi identified as Athokpam Rajmohan alias Rajkumar (28), son of A Basanta of Chalou Mamang Leikai.
Investigation revealed that they had extorted a huge amount of money from the general public, private hospitals and schools in Imphal area for raising party fund.
In another operation, a combined team of Bishnupur District Police Commando and a Column of 2 JK Light Infantry conducted search operation at Ningthoukhong and arrested one cadre of RPF/PLA identified as Laishram Mahesh alias Pukchel (30), son of L Gopaldas of Ningthoukhong Ward No.4 on June 5 .
Combined team of Imphal East District Police Commando and 40 Assam Rifles conducted search operation and nabbed one arms dealer at Kyamgei Mayai Leikai on June 6 identified as one Md Azad Khan (20), son of late Md Abdul Salam of Kyamgei Mayai Leikai and seized one 9mm pistol with Magazine from his possession.
Police said.
In another separation operation, a team of Narcotics and Affairs of Border, Police Station Manipur nabbed one drug smuggler identified as Thingbaijam Rabi Meitei (45), son of late Th Babudhon of Kongba Kshetri Leikai, Ucheckon Imphal East Manipur in front of Lanchenba Hotel, Sangakpham and seized one KG of Opium from his possession.
Cases have been registered in their respective Police Stations.
