Hijam Irabot death anniversary observed

Apunba Ireipakki Maheiroi Sinpanglup (AIMS) observed the Hijam Irabot death anniversary on Sunday at Iboyaima Shumang Leela Sanglen in Palace Compound.
Speaking at the function, Ethno Heritage Council (HERICOUN) adviser Mutum Churamani said that at the present scenario, today's generation needs to know the principles and ideologies of the late comrade who relentlessly worked for bringing in equality in Maniupuri society.
AIMS advisor Romesh said that Irabot had the characteristics of a true leader and the youngsters especially students should discuss and follow his principles and thinking.
Irabot also dreamt of an integrated Manipur society where there is no discrimination irrespective of hill and valley, said Romesh and added that people should follow his path for the betterment of future generations.
Former additional registrar of Cooperative Society, Manipur Government, Thounaojam Manao, proprietor of Leima Diagnostics Ksh Sanathoi and convener of Coalition for Indigenous Right Campaign Manipur, Somorendro Thokchom were present on the dais during the function.
A spot painting competition and a storytelling competition of students were also held as part of the celebration.
Wangthoi Angom of Eden Public School, Malemnganba Waikhom of Sisu Nishtha Niketan bagged the first and the second positions respectively in the spot painting competition while Oinam Catherine of Maria Montessori Secondary School and Ningthoujam Narmada of Heritage Convent jointly bagged the third position.
Joyshri Heisnam of TG Higher Secondary School, Rabichandra Konthoujam of JNV Khumbong and Thokchom Sanathoi of JNV Bishnupur bagged the first, second and third positions respectively in the storytelling competition.
First position holders were awarded with Rs 5000 while Rs 3000 and Rs 2000 were awarded to the second and third position holders.
