Painting competition

A painting competition of school students on the theme 'Share peace' was held today at Lions Service Centre, Sangaiprou under the aegis of the Lions and Lioness Clubs of Imphal.
Altogether 24 students participated in the competition.
Speaking about the painting competition, Lions Clubs International District 322-D governor past district governor H Manikumar said that Lions Club has 750 districts including 69 in India.
The best 24 painters would be selected from the 750 districts.
From amongst the 24 painters, the best would be awarded with the grand prize which carries US $ 5000.The remaining 23 painters merit awards carrying US $ 500 each.
Only two painters from India have won the grand prize earlier and both the winners are from Moirang, Manipur.
Raj Phairembam and Tongbram Mahesh, both belonging to Moirang have won the grand prize earlier, Manikumar said.
