Union minister to inspect Imphal-Moreh road today

Imphal, August 27 2021:
Union minister of road transport & highways and civil aviation VK Singh arrived here on Friday and collected reports of connectivity issues in the North East.
The visiting Union minister will physically inspect Imphal-Moreh road on Saturday and it is likely that the inspection of the highway would begin from 9 am.
Upon his arrival at Imphal airport at 2 pm, officials of civil aviation presented him reports of connectivity issues of both air and surface transport in the region.
In respect of Manipur, the civil aviation officials presented report about helicopter service being started between Imphal and Moreh, Tamenglong and Jiribam.
The officials also apprised the union minister about fund sanctioned for construction of five more Helipads in the state including at Parbung and Thanlon to extend helicopter service and efforts being made to complete construction of the helipads.
The visiting Union minister met chief minister N Biren and two discussed about development works particularly transport sector being carried out in the state.
Later, the union minister was accorded a warm welcome by BJP leaders of the state led by Manipur Pradesh president A Sharda Devi at its Nityaipat Chuthek office.
Speaking at the reception function, VK Singh informed that the main purpose of his visit is to assess report of civil aviation and surface transport issues.
He also said that BJP would continue to rule both at the Centre and in the state in the next term.
