Family seeks police protection

One Oinam Mangi, who used to be a resident of Langol Ningthou Leikai and had been banished by the locality following an incident, has sought police protection in shifting back to the house.
Speaking to media persons at Manipur Press Club today, O Mangi stated that his house in Langol also operates as a rent.
Mangi, who is originally from Thanga Chingkhaibam, narrated that his son was allegedly found to have a physical relationship with a woman on November 29, 2018.Following this, irate people of the locality thronged his residence and started demolishing his house, he said while claiming that he had lost properties worth around Rs 50 lakh.
Later the incident, Langol Apunba Nupi Lup and Langol Welfare Organisation issued a press release at the local dailies banishing O Mangi and his family from his residence.
Mangi added that he along with his family had left the house after that incident.
On the other hand, he continued that his family filed a petition to the High Court on December 26, 2018 regarding the incident and appealing the Court to allow them to shift back to their residence in Langol.
The Manipur High Court had also issued an order allowing/accepting Mangi's appeal on November 8 this year, he claimed.
As such, he also submitted an application to Lamphel PS explaining the matter, Mangi added.
Claiming that all the properties that he had left in his residence have been stolen/ are missing, Mangi appealed to the authority concerned to provide police protection so that they could shift back to his residence.
