ROs face hard times meeting fuel demand

Imphal, November 28 2016:
With people standing in long queues overnight, fuel retail outlets have been facing a difficult situation to distribute 4 Kls of petrol allotted to them to all the people.
Some ROs told The Sangai Express that distribution of 4 Kls of petrol/diesel brought from IOC's Chingmeirong depot after due allocation is made by the Government is being done in a very transparent manner.
Although the ROs as well as the IOC have been working to distribute fuel in the most transparent manner, some people do not trust completely and they seem to be suspecting foul play.
The ROs then appealed to the Government to make due allocations as early as possible.
Saying that the IOC either cancel or modify allocations made by the Government more often than not, the ROs urged the IOC to stop such modifications and cancellations.
Unloading of 4 Kls of oil at an RO takes one hour at the least.
If a single oil tanker is used to unload 4 Kls of oil each at four ROs, the last RO receives its allocation at midnight.
The ROs also appealed to the IOC to release fuel only after checking their quality and density.
If the fuel is found lacking in quality when distribution has started, people standing in queues suspect the ROs.
They further appealed to the authorities concerned to incorporate as many tankers as possible which belong to dealers/transporters when there is movement of convoys.
They also appealed to all the people not to stand in queues overnight when fuel would be distributed the next day.
