Jadonang memorial football tournament Namdunlong edge out Kalalong to enter final

NYC, Namdulong beat KYC, Kalalong 5-4 on penalties today's 1st semi final to cruise into the final of the Xth Jadonang Memorial Football Tournament 2016 held at THAU sports complex.
Wary of each others, the two teams started cautiously and ended up tied at 1-1 in the normal time.
The first half of the match was marked by raids into each others' territories and squandered chances.
Neither side of the team could break the deadlock.
After the barren first half, the two sides bounced back with renewed vigour and upped their attacking styles.
Pupu Palmei handed a lead to Namdunlong in the 58th minute.
However, the lead was shortlived as Khamgonpou Rongmei equalised the goal for Kalalong in the 68th minute.
The frenetic efforts put up by the two teams went abegging as none could succeed in making any further breakthrough.
As such, penalty was put into play to decide the match winner.
While four of Namdunlong players found their target, only three of Kalalong players could convert the penalty kick.
The second semi final match will be played between GFC, Gaidimjang and SSYC, Sawombung Sairem at 1.30 pm tomorrow.
Prior to the semifinal match, an exhibition match between ZFA-XI and Dimapur Rongmei Veteran FC, Nagaland was held where the later edged past ZFA-XI 5-3 .
