Imphal, September 23 2014:
The suspension of three leaders of BJP Manipur Unit, namely Vice President T Hangkhanpao, National Executive Member Ch Chidananda and member Michael Dangmei from the primary membership of the party is unreasonable, said suspended BJP leader T Hangkhanpao.
Talking to media persons at Manipur Press Club here today, Hangkhanpao said that the show cause notice served to them did not mention the reasons for their suspension elaborately.
However, it included newspaper clippings of some BJP leaders meeting Union Health Minister in New Delhi and that of some BJP members celebrating the removal of RIMS Director Prof S Sekharjit.
The suspended BJP leader further clarified that they were neither part of the delegation that met Union Health Minister nor they celebrated the removal of Prof Sekharjit.
Their suspension is quite unreasonable and they have informed the BJP national leaders regarding the matter.

Stating that their suspension from the primary membership is unfortunate, National Executive Member of BJP Chidananda demanded the state BJP leaders to clarify on their alleged connection with the ousted Director of RIMS.
Ch Chidananda, who was also the party's Nagaland in-charge, said party national leadership including president Amit Shah have been urged for intervention over his expulsion along with former Manipur BJP vice-president T Thangkhanpao and former secretary Michael Thangmei from the primary membership of the state unit.
He clarified that a team of the state BJP met the Union Health Minister after Dr Sekharjit was removed from the post of Director of Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS), but they (the three expelled Manipur BJP leaders) were not part of the team.
Chidananda insisted that the party national leaders are yet to confirm their expulsion which still needs their formal consent.
