JSCC appeals for mass observance of 63rd death anniversary of Irabot

The Joint Students' Co-ordination Committee (JSCC), an apex body of six students' organizations has made a fervent appeal to students of all educational institutes to offer floral tributes to photo of Lamyanba Hijam Irabot on his 63rd death anniversary which falls on September 26 .
Addressing a press meet here at the office of Kangleipak Students' Organization (KSO) at Kwakeithel Takhellambam Leikai in Imphal West, Th Premananda, convener of JSCC said that the committee will also observe the death anniversary at its office as in other parts of the State and appealed to students to offer floral wreaths to photo of the great leader at their respective institutes on the day.
He recalled that Irabot had convened public meetings at Chinga Hill on December 29 and 30, 1938 with the aim to strengthen education system of the State and conceded that the meetings had resolved that there should be schools in every village and every person should get primary education so as to strengthen education sector in the State.
Asserting that Irabot was a foremost leader who had always wanted to strengthen the education sector of the State, he maintained that the dearth anniversary has been observed in remembrance of the leader's contributions towards consolidating education sector and unity in the State.
He called upon the people to follow footsteps and dreams of the late leader for bringing in development in the society and further appealed to all concerned organizations to refrain from calling bandh, strike and blockade on the day.
