Imphal, June 09 2015 :
Following complaints against the decision of the State government in curbing continuous and comprehensive evaluation in council exams, All Manipur Recognised Private Schools' Welfare Association is organising a seminar cum discussion on June 13 at Standard Robert Higher Secondary School, Canchipur.
Addressing a press conference at Press Club Majorkhul, Laishram Joykumar secretary of the association said that pros and cons of CCE will be discussed in the seminar and certain resolution will be taken during the discussion.
He also said that the decision to hold a meeting comes after the association received various complains from different corners.
It also questions the sudden decision of the State government in doing away with CCE which has been in practice since 2012.The association also informed that from 2016 onwards students will appear in 6 subjects for 600 marks rather than 5 subjects.
The additional subjects could be fine arts, music, home science, higher maths , etc.
The association also questions the State government if they have recruited enough teachers for teaching the students in the subjects added.
