Senapati, February 07 2021:
The Senapati District Civil Organizations in a joint statement informed that they will extend their support to the "72 hours Inter-State chakka bandh" called by the JAC against the diversion of NH-2/AH-1 at Tumuyon Khullen.
The CSOs appealed to the State Government and authority concerned to maintain 'status quo' of the original road alignment over the Trans Asian Highway-1 expansion from Tumuyon Khullen to Tumnoupokpi.
The Senapati district CSOs further alleged that the attempt to divert the NH-2/AH-1 was unjustifiable and the said proposal was plotted by some individuals with communal and divisive intentions.
Those violating the democratic agitation of the people will be seriously dealt with, warned the CSOs and added that any eventuality during the said bandh will be the responsibility of the State Government and NHIDCL.
