MPP vows to safeguard territorial integrity of State

Making it clear that the vexed Framework Agreement signed between Government of India and NSCN (IM) should not pose a threat to the territorial integrity of the State, Manipur People's Party (MPP) president O Jugindro gave an assurance that the regional political party is fully committed to safeguarding the territorial integrity of the State against any threat.
He was speaking at the golden jubilee celebration of MPP, one of the oldest regional political parties in the North East at its office today.
The celebration function began with unfurling of flag of the party by its president.
Addressing the gathering, Jugindro said that since its inception MPP has been sharing a cordial relationship with the different communities of the State.
He said that the party has been taking part in movements for protecting the territorial integrity of the State.
He assured that he would abide by the constitution of the party and work for betterment of the society.
Jugindro expressed displeasure over the contradictory political claims by BJP and Congress on the Framework Agreement which has drawn flaks from certain sections.
The State might witness many untoward incidents if the Central Government works against the wish of the State, he cautioned.
