Kuki Inpi Saikul threatens bandh

Kuki Inpi Saikul Block has threatened to impose a total bandh along the National Highway at Kangpokpi district, if the authority concerned and the State Government fail to solve the case of suspected assault leading to the death of a 30 year old youth, within 48 hours.
Speaking to media persons at Kuki Inpi Manipur office today, Seimang Lupho, president of the organisation stated that the youth has been identified as Thangtinmang Haokip (30) s/o (L) Jamthang Haokip of K Molpi village, Kangpokpi, who also happened to be the joint secretary of Konghom area youth development.
Seimang Lupho said that at around 6 pm of December 24, some bullet riders came across a critically injured Thangtinmang lying along the road side at Khongampat crossing area and took him to Shija Hospital for treatment.
Thangtinmang was admitted to the ICU ward and succumbed to his injuries yesterday, at around noon.
His dead body was later deposited at RIMS morgue.
The president of the organisation claimed that Thangtinmang might have been brutally assaulted and left in the area.
He also conveyed the possibility of a road accident as the Honda Activa of the deceased was partly damaged.
Appealing to the authority concerned and the State Government to investigate into the matter and book the culprit (s) if any, within 48 hours, he said that the Kuki Inpi Saikul will launch total bandh at Kangpokpi district along National Highway number 2, Imphal-Dimapur road if the authorities fail.
He also added that the dead body, which is still lying at RIMS morgue, will not be claimed until the authorities provide any positive results.
