Imphal, November 25 2018:
A National Integration Tour (Nov 10 to 24) from KPI & T/Akutpa ofKangpokpi district to Delhi-Chandigarh was organised by Jwalamukhi Battalion under the aegis of Senapati Brigade of Red Shield Division to promote the spirit ofNational Integration among the young generation.
A total 18 students and 2 teaching staffs from Good Shepherd English School, Light House School, Emmanual School Haipi, and Thonglang Govt High School were part of the 14 days National Integration Tour to Delhi & Chandigarh.
The tour covered important historical places like Rose Garden, Pinjore Garden, International Dols Museum, Le Corbusier Centre, Chart Bir Zoo, Cactus Gardens, Museum and Art Gallery, Mohali Cricket Stadium at Chandigarh, Con-naught Place, Rashtrapati Bhawan, Nehru Planetarium at Delhi, Great India Palace Mall at Noid'a.The tour also provided an opportunity to the children to interact with Lt Gen Asit Mistry, AVSM, SM, VSM, GOC Delhi Area.
The NIT was organized with the aim to provide an insight into the rich heritage of the country as well as various development and industry initiatives that are underway.
It provides opportunity to the children to know about new cultural diversities and a platform for two way interaction and educate them about people, language, architecture and history of Delhi and Chandigarh, said a statement of PIB (Defence Wing) .
