ATSUM congratulates MC Mary Kom

All Tribal Students' Union Manipur (ATSUM) has praised MC Mary Kom for her achievement at the 2018 AIBA Women's World Boxing Championships in New Delhi.
Exactly 16 years after she had won gold for the first time in the Women's World Boxing Championship, Mary Kom defeated Ukraine's Hanna Okhota in the final of the 2018 Women's World Boxing Championships to clinch her sixth world title in the 48 Kg categories at the KD Jadhav Indoor Stadium on Saturday.
Secretary, Youth Affairs & Sports ATSUM Lamcha Chongloi stated that not only the people of Manipur but the entire nation erupted with joy on seeing her scripting a beautiful record to become the first ever female on earth to achieve six boxing world titles at the 2018 AIBA Women's World Boxing Championships in New Delhi.
The 3 5-years old mother of three, Mary Kom, who went over her weight category to clinch a 51kg bronze at the London Olympics, previously clinched the World Championship gold on five occasions in 2002, 2005, 2006, 2008, 2010 before clinching the historic six gold medal at the 2018 AIBA Women's World Boxing Championships in New Delhi.
Having been away from the boxing ring for a long time, Mary returned to competitive boxing and the 48 Kg category only last year.
The magnificent boxer, who seems to have successfully put behind the memories of Rio Olympics disappointment, announced her comeback by winning the Asian women's boxing championships in Vietnam.
The Student body also lauded the unmatched support and cooperation of Onler Kom, husband of the superwoman stating that without which the mother of three would not have achieved such feat and appreciated the tireless support of her husband and family.
