State reports seven new cases

Imphal, July 02 2022:
The state on Saturday reported seven fresh cases of Covid-19, out of 64 samples tested in the last 24 hours, thus, registering 10.94 per cent positivity rate.
Saturday also recorded highest daily test positivity rate since February 5 (12.36 per cent) and highest single day fresh cases since April 14 (13 cases) .
The seven fresh cases (3 male & 4 female) are residents of Imphal West (4), Imphal East (2) and Bishnupur (1) districts.
No recovery or death case was reported on Friday.
Number of active cases rose to 31 out of which 26 are in home isolation.
Till date, the pandemic has claimed 2120 lives including seven CAPF personnel and infected 1,37,281 individuals including 5,014 CAPF personnel.
The virus has claimed lives of 194 vaccinated people, out of which 61 had received second doses of Covid vaccine.
So far, the state has recorded 11,493 positive cases and 118 fatalities since the beginning of the third wave of the pandemic.
The current month has reported 11 new positive cases and no fatality.
In the last 24 hours, 16 D-type oxygen cylinders and 8 B-type cylinders have been made available to different health facilities and 155 vaccine doses administered taking the cumulative number of vaccinated population to 15,93,319 .
Data analysed by this daily shows that the rate of infection remains 44,241 confirmed cases per million population (based on projected population of 31,03,000 as per NCP report) against the national average of 30,908 CPM.
Test rate has improved to 5,20,407 tests per million population against the national average of 6,13,353 TPM.
Case fatality rate stands at 1.54 per cent and the recovery rate came down to 98.43 per cent.
The cumulative positivity rate stands 8.50 per cent.
