Imphal-bound laden truck hijacked

Imphal, November 11 2013:
An Imphal-bound truck carrying GI pipes from Guwahati was hijacked by some unidentified armed persons from Dimapur area along National Highway No.2 on the intervening night of November 3 and 4 .
According to sources, the armed gunmen hijacked the truck bearing registration number MN 01C-8931 along with the driver and handyman from Dimapur area soon after crossing Khatkhati in Assam.
The hijackers have reportedly made a ransom of Rs.10 lakhs.
The driver has been identified as Toijam Mangijao and the truck is owned by Rajesh Gupta of MG Avenue, Thangal Bazar.
