Imphal, November 11 2013:
Reacting to the claim of Thoubal Police regarding the arrest of a person allegedly involved in the twin blasts at Pallel, the banned PREPAK (Pro) has denied involvement of its Red Army in the blasts that killed a migrant worker and injured six others on November 6 .
According to a statement of PREPAK (Pro) issued by its Senior Publicity Officer Melei, the Commandos of Thoubal Police conducted a covert operation to earn gallantry awards at the upcoming Republic Day Celebration of India.
The Improvised Explosive Device (IED) displayed by the police was a sophisticated bomb marked as "Department of Defense Red Army".
It was to be used in attacking security personnel.
The military grade explosive was never to be used to target innocent and unarmed people.
It was a sinister plan of the security forces to tarnish the image of the outfit and its revolutionary movement.
The outfit would never go against the international laws by targeting innocent people.
It further clarified that Lance Corporal Khunoungakpa of Langol Khunou, who was named as the main suspect in Pallel blasts by police, was given some explosive devices by the outfit some three months back to carry out attacks on security personnel ahead of the outfit's raising day.
However, he failed to accomplish the tasks and he had remained out of contact with the outfit since last week of September this year.
The explosive devices handed over to Khunoungakpa were reportedly seized by the Commandos in September.
It was surprising that the bombs were again used to target innocent people.
Moreover, the outfit suspected that Khunoungakpa might have surrendered to security forces as one of his nephews named Taibanganba who worked as an active member of the outfit surrendered to the police recently and he was in constant touch with his nephew.
PREPAK (Pro) further appealed to Thoubal CDO to make a proper clarification to the public regarding the Pallel blasts, and asked whether Khunoungakpa had been arrested or surrendered to the police or else he would be shot dead as a suspect in Pallel bomb blasts.
